I think this sight would be useful because it tells  you all about moose and some facts I never knew about. It's not hard for adults, but easy and fun for kids! It even has a joke at the bottom too! There is one thing that is bad though! There is not that many facts, so if you are looking for a little facts, then you should look at this website!



Life in the Trees is a Breeze-Ranger Rick

I think this website is not useful because it has facts, but a bit to much facts! It has small print more for adults and if you were doing a book report on that, you might want to have high reading levels, or be an adult! So I recommend that you don't use that link if you are a child!


Tropical Deforestation-Observatory

I think this website is only for adults because it is very hard and I would never recommend that website to a child. It has so many facts that I had to just skim though it then really read it so that is only for adults in my opinion!




Make sure that you can read and understand the text completely with Ease and make sure the link is easy and not hard and you don't understand words!

Search Strategies

* You can go onto goggle and search up anything you want to look up.

* You can go onto chrome and search up anything you want to look up.

* Remember you have to be able to trust that website. If you not sure than you can look in more than one place to make sure it's real.

What I learned: 

* I learned that you have to say small words

* You have to have specific words and not small words like "it or as".
* Make sure that you don't use one word because that word might be something that the Internet might think is different.  Ex. You might want to find interesting facts about hares, but they give you adds about shampoo for hair. So you have to be careful.
* When you are looking for something you have to find the 3 best words to fit the thing that you are looking for.

Rainforest Facts

Did you know that there is over 3,000 of fruit in the rainforest! In Malaysia there is more than 700 trees in the rainforest! Also the bigger the plant the more the sun light it gets! Wait! Do you know this question? Is it ok to have a monkey for a pet? Wow! The canopy is practically like an umbrella and that is where most animals live. But some of the animals in the rainforest are very colorful live the pretty frogs even though some frogs don't live in the canopy! Learning about the rainforest is cool! Why don't you try!

Book Buzz

                                                                 My Book Buzz

Do you like frightening books? The book that I am reading is a book called 100 Cupboards by N.D. Willson. It starts when a little boy named Henrey was alone and he had to go to his grandma's and grandpa's house since Henrey's mom and dad got kidnapped. When he was there he found some doors in the walls. He had to survive some cupboards, but otherwise he had some fun in others! Experience what Henry and his cousins went through to get out of the big commotion while they still want to get Grandfathers door open. If you like books that are freaky, check out this one!

Goal 3

What:    I will solve more than one strategy for solving a problem in math.

How:     I will do this by listening for new strategy's during class.

By When:     I will do this by Fall Break.

I have been listening for many new strategy's in math! I know mare than 5 strategy's now. Sometimes I have really bad strategy's, but some are like WOW! I think I am doing this goal well!

I have been doing more than 1 problem in math a lot in math! I first used something I call tic-tack-toe. it is a box split into different parts. If the problem was 29*93 I split the 29 into a 20 and a 9! Same with the 93, 90 and a 3. then to check it or my other problem is lattice. It isn't the most inefficient way but it still works!

I did a problem in math yesterday and I did one strategy and I knew that everybody had the strategy so I thought of a new one and and I got to share it!

We were doing number talk not to long ago and I remember that I had one strategy. Then someone shared to the class what they did and I had that in mind so I had to think of a new one. I didn't get to share it because we were out of time but I still had another problem in my mind!

Today we didn't do number talk. Instead we figured out a problem and wrote it down on our slates and then we had to share it. I shared my strategy with everyone and I keep saying all these different things and I got more and more strategy's and I ended up saying a lot!

Once again we did not have number talk but something like it. I didn't know how to solve the problem because I didn't get the problem but I asked questions like "How did you get that" or "Why did you do that!

We didn't have number talk today (again, I think we should do more though!) but I did play a game. It was "Fraction Match". I had a lot of fun playing it but during it I keep thinking of different ways to match the fraction cards that got placed down!

Goal 2

What:  I will get recommendations from friends, teachers, and librarians or from book buzzes found on my classmates blogs.

How:  I will know when  I am happy when reading comes.

By when:  I will do this by the end of October.

I was looking for a book one day and I went to the level P book shelf. Mina and Hazel Ann where there too looking for a good book. I picked up a book called Ivy & Bean. Both Mina and Hazel Ann read that book already and told me, "Julia, that book was an awesome book! You should read it!" So I picked it up and I read the back and I thought it was a pretty good book so I stared to read it and now I have already finished the 2nd book!

I think I have done this because one day I went to the library and asked to get some recommendation from our librarian and I got some nice books and I am reading them! They are really interesting books!

I got a bunch of books from Mrs. Gaskell and I have not just understood the characters and the book but I also have read half of the books she gave me and I had about 8-10 books! I have enjoyed reading them and one I read in the car and then by the time I got home, I had finished that book and it was 15 chapters long!

I have achieved this goal because I have got MANY, MANY, MANY recommendations and I just can't wait until reading comes! I am starting to read thicker book and more challenging books! I think I am ready for a new goal on reading!

I have got a recommendation by the librarian. She told me that Mr. Peabody's Apples was a good book and I should read it so I did and now I just went to counselling today and we talked about spreading rumours about people. And that book fits right into it! So Mrs. Gaskell told me that she would read it to the class and maybe the rumours will stop! I hope!

Goal 1

What:  In stories, I will use more spicy words so readers can feel the emotions and visualise what's happening.

How:  I will do this by adding important details to make my pieces more interesting and clear.

By When:  I will do this by Thanksgiving break.

It has been past Thanksgiving break and I am writing a story at my house. It was so lame but now since we've made our personal stories I've been putting in more spicy words like yelled instead of shouted. I think I did a lot of progress!

so I think that I should put in more spicy words!" so I put in much more spicy words!

Today we were writing our poetry tools and poetry doors and Mrs. Gaskell told us we could not copy off of what she wrote so instead I used a different sentence and it had some spicy words in it. Even Mrs. Gaskell looked at it and said "good!" or something like that!

The Landry News satrts out where there is a girl named Cara and she loves to make newspapers and her teacher, Mr. Larson doesn't teach at all! All he does is sits around at his desk drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. One day Cara made a newspaper and told the truth about how Mr. Larson was teaching and we all know that Mr. Laron doesn't teach so Mr. Larson got furious because he didn't like what she wrote so the rest of the week was pretty miserable. The next week Mr. Larson was reading the newspaper when he looked down at his class and asked if any one had read the Sunday paper and almost all the kids raised their hands. Then he asked,"How many people had read the Chicogo Tribune?" and over half the same hands went up. He asked about some more questions and then he finally said, "Who read something other than the sports section or comics in the Tribune?" Cara's hand was the only one up. Then thats when the magic started to happen. Mr. Larson was interested so he asked her "Can you tell us a little about what you read?"  Mr. Larson was amazed at what he heard so Cara had an eager to make more newspapers.  She made about 2 newspapers when a boy in her class told her that she could do it on a computer. Cara had always made newspapers on paper, so she needed a little help. Luckly her friend helped her and when she got done it was good. she made more and more newspapers and some got off the hock bacause one of them talked about fat and that could hurt someones feelings if they were fat so she talked about it and made better newspapers after that. She had made a bunch of newspapers, and she was working on one of them and she asked her class if they could help and they did but one of them talked about how his mom and dad got divorced and what he did but that caused some trouble. She thought that that piece was so good so she made some to put around the school and the principal got hold of one and he read about the devorce part and the principal didn't like it so he had a meating with Mr. Larson and he said that he didn't like it and he said it was a waste of school time, paper, and electricity. When the meeting was over Mr. Larson walked away as if nothing happened. Mr. Larson didn't want to let his class finish the newspaper and he showed them a video instead. After a couple of days later they had an assembly and the boy who wrote the divorce piece shared it and then Mr. Larson was very proud of her.

What I am thankful for?

I am thankful for God because he made us all and made the earth.
I am also thankful for my family for being kind to me and having a fun time in the pool!
I am thankful for my grandma because she makes cakes for free for us and she always says "yes" when my mom asks her if she can babysit me my brother and my sister.

Respect

• Don't go into other peoples blogs if it is private.
• Don't look at anybody's passwords.
• Don't give your e-mail to your online friends! 
• Even if you have a password people can still see what you are seeing and doing!
• Cyberbullying happens when you text and you don't even realize it so you have to be careful when you text or even call!

Responsibility

• Keep track of your passwords and other stuff and don't blame a person if you forget your passwords.
• Keep your passwords to your self if you don't want anybody to get it.
• If some one has sent you some mail, never open it because it can have bad stuff in it! 
• Even if you delete something people can still go on and look at what you where looking at! 
• You have to keep track of your own phones and things so that other people don't post mean things on it!

honesty

• Don't download thing that you aren't suppose to get.
• If your mom and dad need your password bad, tell them the one that you wrote and not a made up one. 
• Always tell your mom and dad if you want to put in your name before you do. You could give it to some stranger and they could do some truble.
• Ask someone if you can post what they did, but if they don't want you to post then don't.

Fairness

• Don't try to tell people you don't know your password.
• Don't respond to someone that you don't know on the computer.
• You might not feel it when you put a bad thing down, but other people might get sad becouse you made something that made them mad.
• Someone might send you a e-mail saying, win free money, don't trust that person! 

Compassion

• Don't share things online that people don't want you to share.
• Help someone if they don't know what to do on the computer.
• Never use bad words on the computer because if people read it they might feel sad or even angry.
• If some one see's this symbol, :-P, they might feel sad because it means that you are sticking out your tongue.
• You can be a upstander and help other people when they are being bullied! 
• You don't want to be a bystander and not help other people when they are being bullied!
