Today my class was asked to write either a picture prompt, a story, or anything they wanted. I will choose anything I want. I chose this because because some people ask me what do you dream about at night? I have had many dreams as you can see. I'm 11 so, 365 times 11 equals about 4,000. 4,000 dreams... I can not remember all of them, but here is one that know straight from the heart!
(This will sort of be like a fantasy story, but this is a dream, not a story.)
"Number 1673!" Said the announcer. I walked up to the line and went to pose. A hand went up, and I started the routine. Up, down, bounce, and walk. In a matter of time I was done, and I went to pose, than walked back to my seat. "Good job!" everybody was saying to me. 12.9 was my score. It was the lowest score on the team. I sat there shrugging my shoulders. It seemed like hours before all the girls were done. Then, before we knew it, the gymnastic coach told us to get up and walk over to vault.
We approached vault, and said "hi"to the judge. Then we took our places. 3rd in line was horrible, but I would have to live with it. Practice was over, and the real judging came in. The two girls that were in front of me went. The first girl got 34.7, and the second girl got 36.1. Now it was my turn. I ran the hardest I could jumped on the spring bored, and closed my eyes. I was scared. Right as I jumped, I was expecting to land, but I didn't feel anything touching the bottoms of my feet.
Everything was silent. Only a few sounds came from the air vents. I opened my eyes only expecting to see myself rising. I was looking franticly all over for my mom. There she was at the corner of my eye yelling something that I couldn't understand. Then my head hit the top of the roof. "Ow!" I said. "HELP! HELP!" That was the only thing I heard now. Myself.
I wasn't sure what to do! I was scared, only heard myself, and didn't know how I had this power. I decided in my dream I wanted to switch it around back to where I saw my mom, but I could hear her, and a ladder would bring me down. "Julia, don't be scared! We will get you down!" Screamed my mom to me. How are they going to get me down I wondered. Then, a ladder hit a post next to me.
I held onto it, and as slow as molasses came down the ladder. My mom took me away and said to me, "Ok, so you have it! Now! IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!" "Have what?" I was tempted to ask. My mom was banging her head against a wall. "What mommy???" I really wanted to know. Then my coaches came out and asked what was happening.
My mom grabbed me and put me behind her back and quickly told them, "Um, what thing?" I could tell my mom wanted to keep this 'thing' a secret. I squeezed out of my moms hands and told the coaches, "I was just testing out my new... new... don't get mad at me... boots!" "You have and had NO boots on when you were doing vault!" said my coaches. My mom put in, "They are invisible, keep it a secret!" "Well, I don't ever want you to wear them EVER again when in a meet!" said my coaches! "YES! I will never wear them ever again in a meet!" I said. The coaches then left. I would of never knew that the coaches would of fell for that.
"What is happening mom?" I asked one more time to my mom. "Well, you see honey. I was born with the gift of flight." "Was daddy?" I asked. "No." My mom said. "And you have to keep it a secret or else the power will be gone." "Then how do I have it?" "Because you are my daughter, and yes Jami (my sister) and Drew (my brother) both have it too." "So, that means I can fly?" "Yes, but not now because it takes practice!" "Ok, no more flying until practice. But, how do I control my flying? How do I know when to fly or not? What would happen if I start to fly again?" "Don't worry, the only way you can begin to fly is by a thinking about a certain thing, but I can't tell you that until you are 15." "Ok, well I better get back to the vault. Thanks mom!" I hugged her good bye, and went back into the gym.
I redid my straight jump for vault and got 14.1. I did everything else until I was very tired. "Get up Julia, time to get ready for school!" I looked around the room, and it was Friday morning, and I had 45 minutes until the bus came. "Just a dream, just a dream!" I joked to my self. In a matter of time I was out the door. It was a long day, and finally it was over and I had gymnastic. I told the coaches all about my dream.
The coaches then were teaching us how to do back handsprings. "Julia, your turn!" My coach said. I got up, and I did a practice one, then I had to get back in line. Sometimes when I get bored, I do a round off, then swing back my arms and head, but I don't really do a handspring because I don't know how to do it. I did the round off, swung back my arms, and surprisingly, I did a back handspring. I slipped, and went into a split position. "I CAN DO THE SPLITS!!!!!!" I shouted. I had been wanting to do the splits for a LONG time! I started doing the splits everywhere, and then I heard a voice. "Wake up Julia!" I heard my mom say. "Another dream?" I said. Then I got ready in the real world. (When I woke up though, I was REALLY mad because I thought that I wasn't dreaming, and I really could do the splits.)
So, when people ask me, what kind of dreams I have, this story would be one of the dreams I have had. I hope you like it, and please make a comment saying what are some things I should improve on. Thanks for reading!
To me at first when you jumped up, I thought that you weren't flying put you just put in all your effort. So then I thought that your head got stuck in the roof (no offense) and I could picture your head stuck in the roof and no offense but it looked a bit funny. At first I thought this was going to be a good dream about you wining something in gymnastics but then you totally surprised me. Good job Julia.
ReplyDeleteBefore I knew you had flying powers, I thought that your head crashed in the the ceiling and you were stuck. I like how you decided to write about your dreams. Dreams make good stories. Keep up the good work!
