The Message In The Book Wonder

We finished the book Wonder, and I thought it was a really good story! It was very meaning full and it had lots of messages, but here is one that I thought was important.

I think that the message in the book Wonder is: It's not about what's on the out- side, but what's on the inside. I think this because have you seen way August has acted? Is he mean, and selfish? No! He is really nice, and is kind-hearted. So, what I mean by it's not about what's on the outside, but what's on the inside is August could have this really super duper, gross, weird looking face, but on the inside, how does he act? He acts friendly, and that's all it takes to be a good person, the inside.

  1. I never thought of that. As I think about the book, that is a really big message. Auggie is nice. That's definitely one of the biggest messages.

  2. I agree Jade. That is a big message and a good one. This happens in real life a lot too. I really like how you explained this well, Julia. Some people would write something like "I think that a message in Wonder is it matters what is on the inside.", but you made me really believe you since you gave examples and make anyone who reads this think. Super job Julia!

  3. That is a big message! It is very important to realize that it doesn't matter how you are from the outside, it matters how you are from the inside. This message is pretty similar to " Don't judge a book (boy) by its cover (face)". I love your message!

    1. I think that this is a very important lesson to learn. You should never judge a boy by the way he looks.
